I am a Senior Lecturer in Forensic Speech Science in the Department of Language and Linguistic Science at the University of York. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. My research interests lie in:
- forensic speech science, and specifically forensic voice comparison
- forensic statistics and the evaluation of evidence
- automatic speaker recognition
- sociolinguistics/ sociophonetics
- articulatory and acoustic phonetics
