Along with Dr Amelia Gully and Dr Sophie Meekings, we have been awarded £300,000 from the University of York to run the YorVoice project as part of the University’s SPARKS initiative. The aim of SPARKS is to support the next wave generation of research ideas and themes emerging from the University, specifically for research areas with significant headroom to grow. YorVoice will establish York as the world leader in radical, interdisciplinary research into the human voice (including speech and singing production, perception, pedagogy and performance). We will create a community of practice, commission smaller interdisciplinary research projects, and run training and networking events, as well as develop capacity for future, larger funding bids.
